According to the records of the Conference, the prospects of DEM models development lie in the increase of models definition, using radiolocation and laser land survey, the improvements of traditional methods, such as automatization of drawing chequered light and shade on maps and plans. GIS are used in the systems of landslides risk assessment, in the investigations of extreme ecologic-geomorphologic situations.

ЕРМАКОВА A.C. — 2008 г.
To estimate the direction and rate of vertical riverbed deformations the curves of regression were obtained for rivers' level and discharge. The longitudinal profiles of some rivers were plotted. The predominant type of profiles is concave one, which relates to growth of discharge and decrease of gradient downstream. The bed with well-developed alluvial forms is incidental to all rivers with water surface slope less then 20%. The middle and lower streams of the rivers in the zones transient from mountains to basins and littoral plains may be considered as mountain rivers. In volcanic areas equilibrium river profile should be calculated taking into account the density of incoming piroclastic material.

The Makkaveyevs' law of the interconnection between erosion, sediment transport and accumulation is analyzed. The resent development of this law is discussed. The characteristics of time-space correlations of erosion and accumulation are shown at different levels of channel processes: from longitudinal river profile to sand wave relief of river bed.

Morpholithogenic processes which formed relief of Ust'-Kanskaya and Yaboganskaya basins during late Neopleistocene are described. The existence of paleolake formed by the ice dam in the early Wurm near Ust'-Kan village was proved. Glacial dislocations accompany the moraine deposits. There are geologic evidence of mudflows and massive floods on the slope down the lake. During the middle and late Wurm eolian processes and paedogenesis were active. Tectonic movements took place in the second half of the Neopleistocene.

History of development of little buried erosion forms in the centre of Middle-Russian highland is reconstructed. The regularities of their erosion-accumulation dynamics are related to landscape-climatic changes during interglacial-glacial macrocycle. Four large stages of their development are distinguished: deepening and linear growth in the Late Moscow time, stabilization during the Mikulino Interglacial, rapid filling at the Mikulino - Early Valdai boundary, and slow filling during the most part of Valdai epoch.

The alluvium of the Lena River below the Pokrovsk town was particularly analyzed including pollen analysis. There exists the single terrace above flood-plain build up with Drias-Holocene deposits and high and low infill flood-plains; they were formed over the three main stages. During global cooling in the period 20-17 ma b. p. the base level of the Lena was low and deep erosion prevailed. During warm period 164.5 ma (Drias) the base level upraised and alluvium was accumulated in the valley. At the third stage up to nowadays the transit of earlier accumulated material is predominant. In the result, the channel section changes frequently as well as its carrying capacity, which leads to gorges formation and flooding of large areas.

The ideas concerned with soil erosion were chose from the extensive scientific heritage of N.I. Makkaveyev. His views on the role of kinetic energy in soil erosion were proved experimentally. The raindrops impact increases the erosive action by the order of magnitude. The other of his ideas (erosion and sediment transport are proportional to the flow power; suspended load influence sufficiently on soil loss) served as a cornerstone for physically based soil erosion model. The simple computations showed that soil erosion rate is proportional to the third power of flow velocity. The influence of sediment concentration was studied experimentally. The equations, which describe this influence, were developed.

The territory of the Ural neotectonic structural zone consists of several areas with highly different recent geomor-phologic regimes. For the mountainous regimes of the North and Polar Ural the typical are high values of neotectonic 4* 83 uplift, deep and dense erosion dissection, high gradients of elevations, glacial landforms. The regimes of plain type are characterized by insignificant dissection under condition of low uplift; they occupy Pai-Khoi, the eastern margin of the Ural and Transural plateau. The intermediate regimes have intermediate values of neotectonic uplift, elevations, and erosion dissection, but high intensity of karst and landslides, and large amount of woodland; they are situated on the west slope of the North and Middle Ural and in the NW part of the South Ural. The Ural is usually classified as a single mountain morphostructural type with subtypes. We suppose there should be three or at least two mor-phostructural types: the properly mountain, the transitional, and platform plain types of morphostructure within the Ural neotectonic region (the last two may possibly be merged into one transitional type). These types manifest the different stages or different intensity of the Ural's rejuvenation (or regeneration). The distribution of recent geomor-phologic regimes is governed not only by the Hercynian meridional tectonic structures but by the latitude climatic zones and neotectonic features as well.

The creation conditions of single erosion-accumulative process doctrine and its development by N.I. Makkaveyev as well as its role in understanding of fluvial relief formation logic are analyzed. The paper describes the main laws concerning the effect of run-off on Earth surface. The evolution of doctrine led to the development of erosion-channel systems' theory. The structure of such systems is given; the connections of their elements with the water and silt load flow direction are described.

The rock bends of Volga and Don (within Volgogradsk region) are considered as macro- and megabends. The data on paleogeomorphologic conditions and tectonics of the region are given. Special attention is paid to the layering of relief, the latter having much in common with the relief of the East Don ridge and the southern Privolzhskaya upland. Some hypotheses of the relief levels age and origin are discussed.
