  • A NOVEL QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS METHOD OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL FLUORESCENCE SPECTRA FOR VEGETABLE OILS CONTENTS IN EDIBLE BLEND OIL

    LIU XIAO-FEI, WANG YU-TIAN, XU JING — 2015 г.

  • A RAPID AND PRACTICAL STRATEGY FOR THE DETERMINATION OF PLATINUM, PALLADIUM, RUTHENIUM, RHODIUM, IRIDIUM AND GOLD IN LARGE AMOUNTS OF ULTRABASIC ROCK BY INDUCTIVELY COUPLED PLASMA OPTICAL EMISSION SPECTROMETRY COMBINED WITH ULTRASOUND EXTRACTION

    TIAN MIN, ZHANG GAI — 2015 г.

This proposed method regulated the determination of platinum, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium and gold in platinum-group ores by nickel sulfide fire assay-inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) combined with ultrasound extraction for the first time. The quantitative limits were 0.013-0.023 μg/g. The samples were fused to separate the platinum-group elements from matrix. The nickel sulfide button was then dissolved with hydrochloric acid and the insoluble platinum-group sulfide residue was dissolved with aqua regia by ultrasound bath and finally determined by ICP-OES. The proposed method has been applied into the determination of platinum-group element and gold in large amounts of ultrabasic rocks from the Great Dyke of Zimbabwe.

  • ABSORPTION ENHANCEMENT IN THIN-FILM PHOTOLUMINESCENCE LAYERS WITH METAL NANOPARTICLES INTER-COUPLING ENGINEERING

ALAVIZADEH SABA, BAGHBAN HAMED, YADOLLAHZADEH SAJJAD — 2015 г.

We analyze the enhancement in optical absorption of a photoluminescence ZnS layer with embedded spher- ical metal nanoparticles (MNPs). Using introduced optical model based on the boundary element method (BEM), the so-called scattering cross-section over absorption cross-section (SCS/ACS) ratio has been de- fined that represents the strength of re-absorption by scattering. According to the collective behavior of the interacting plasmonic nanoparticles in an array, an optimum SCS/ACS is obtained for inter-particle distance over the particle diameter. This parameter gives a hint for the nanoparticle density and size in practical appli- cations and is consistent for all of the metallic nanoparticles.

  • ADVANCED PROPERTIES OF EXTENDED LASER-PRODUCED PLASMAS FOR EFFICIENT GENERATION OF THE HIGH-ORDER HARMONICS OF ULTRASHORT LASER PULSES

    GANEEV R.A. — 2015 г.

The review of the studies showing the advanced properties of extended plasma plumes (5 mm) for efficient high-order harmonic generation of laser radiation compared with the short lengths of plasmas (~0.3-mm) used in previous studies is presented. The harmonic conversion efficiency quadratically increased with the growth of plasma length at the optimal conditions of plasma formation. The studies of this process using the long plasma jets produced on various metal surfaces, particularly including the resonance-enhanced harmonic generation, two-color pump, and extended nanoparticle plasma, are discussed.

    BAI L., SONG P., YAO Y., YU W.X., ZHANG C.G., ZHANG C.M., ZHU P.F. — 2015 г.

We demonstrate an efficient and compact ultraviolet laser at 360 nm generated by intracavity frequency dou- bling of a continuous wave (CW) laser diode-pumped Pr3+ : YLiF4 laser at 721 nm. A lithium triborate crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature, is used for second-harmonic generation of the fundamental laser. By using an InGaN laser diode emitting at 444.3 nm with a maximum incident power of 5 W, as high as 460 mW of CW output power at 360 nm is achieved. The optical-to-optical conversion effi- ciency is as high as 9.2%, and the output power stability in 4 h is better than 3.86%. To the best of our knowl- edge, this is high efficient UV laser generated by frequency doubling of an InGaN diode-pumped Pr3+: YLiF4 laser.

An LBO crystal, cut for critical type I phase matching at room temperature is used for second harmonic generation of the laser. With dual end pump configurations at total incident pump power of 40 W, as high as 10.8 W of CW output power at 561 nm is achieved with 20 mm long LBO. The op-tical-to-optical conversion efficiency is up to 27%, and the power stability in 8 h is better than 2.56%.

  • AN IR STUDY OF 4(3H)-PYRIMIDINONE IN SOLUTION ADSORBED ON NAX, NAY AND ZSM-5 ZEOLITES

    BAHCELI S., GOKCE H. — 2015 г.

In this study, the FT-IR spectra of 4(3H)-Pyrimidinone in acetic acid solution adsorbed on NaX (type 13X), NaY and ZSM-5 zeolites are reported. At the same time, the IR wavenumbers of pure 4(3H)-Pyrimidinone molecule (Abbreviated as 4(3H)-Pyr), C4H4N2O, were calculated using the DFT/B3LYP level of theory with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The obtained IR spectral data indicate that nitrogen ion of the mentioned molecule was adsorbed on zeolites via the hidrogen bondings with the surface hydroxyl groups while some of infrared peaks of 4(3H)-Pyr in solution adsorbed on the title zeolites seem to interfere with the vibrational bands of free zeolites.

Layer supramolecular architecture is formed by medium stacking interactions between two neighboring phenanthroline rings from two independent linear chains. Studies on luminescent property of 1 exhibit the solid state emission originating from an intra ligand * transition of NPTA2 ligand.

  • EFFECT OF DIPALMITOYLPHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE ON A MICROEMULSION

    NASROLLAHI ABOOZAR, SHARIFI SOHEIL — 2015 г.

In this work, the dynamic behavior of droplets under addition of Dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (lipid) and CTAB (salt) is studied by photon correlation spectroscopy. The collective diffusion coefficient (Dc) of Brownian motion of droplets/salt and droplets/lipid was explored by photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS). The PCS experiment demonstrated that Dc of AOT/H2O/ n -decane microemulsion increased with increase of lipid and CTAB. For understanding the dynamic of droplets, we investigated viscosity and droplet interac- tion in Lipid/AOT/H2O/ n -decane microemulsion. This system illustrated a well-known maximum in rela- tive viscosity as a function of water/AOT molar ratio near X = 7. The maximum of viscosity can be varied by adding lipid at different concentration. Small angle X-ray scattering measurements revealed that the mor- phology of droplets changed from cylindrical to spherical with increase of lipid amount in the droplets. The same effect was observed in the mixture of water droplets with CTAB.

  • EFFECT OF LASER FLUENCE ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AL NANOPARTICLES PRODUCED BY LASER ABLATION IN DEIONIZED WATER

    ABBASI M., DORRANIAN D. — 2015 г.

We have studied the effects of the laser fluence on the characteristics of Al nanoparticles produced by pulsed laser ablation of Al plate in deionized water without using surfactant. Five samples of aluminum nanoparticles were synthesized by nanosecond pulsed laser ablation of a high purity aluminum plate in distilled water at five different fluences in the range of 1–3 J/cm2. There is threshold fluence of the laser at which absorption of laser energy by water rises significantly. Absorption of the laser energy by water leads to increase oxygen atoms in the ablation medium and formation of aluminum oxide nanoparticles. By increasing the laser fluence below the threshold magnitude size of produced nanoparticles increase while by increasing the laser fluence above the threshold magnitude size of produced nanoparticles decrease. The UV-Visible-NIR absorption spectra of nanoparticles exhibit surface plasmon resonance absorption peak in the ultraviolet region. TEM and SEM micrographs are used to characterize the produced nanoparticles. The production rate of nanoparticles is increased with increasing the laser fluence.

  • FIRST ORDER DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF BENIDIPINE HYDROCHLORIDE PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATIONS AND FORCED DEGRADATION STUDY

    KARASAKAL AYÇA — 2015 г.

A simple and rapid first order derivative spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of benidipine hydrochloride in pure form and pharmaceutical preparations. For the first derivative spectropho- tometric method, the distances between two extremum values (peak-to-peak amplitudes), 230.2/241.5 nm. The proposed method was validated according to the ICH guidelines with respect to linearity, limit of detec- tion, limit of quantification, accuracy, precision (intra- and inter-day) and recovery were evaluated. The lin- earity of the method was in the range of 0.2-2.0 μg/mL. Limits of detection and quantification were 0.58 and1.73 μg/mL, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of pharmaceutical preparations. In addition, forced degradation studies were performed on the benidipine hydrochloride drag subtance. The drug substance was exposed to the stress conditions of hydrolysis (acid and base).

    CHANTRAPROMMA S., CHIDAN KUMAR C.S., KARALAI C., RUANWAS P. — 2015 г.

Five dienone derivatives, (1E,4E)-1,5-bis(4-R-phenyl)penta-1,4-dien-3-one (1–5), R = OH (1), OCH3 (2), OCH2CH3 (3), N(CH3)2 (4) and N(CH2CH3)2 (5) have been synthesized and characterized by 1H- and 13C NMR, UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy and investigated for their fluorescence properties. The compounds under test possess fluorescence properties. The fluorescence absorption and emission maxima of 1–5 were found in the range 421–431 nm and 514–555 nm, respectively, leading to Stokes shifts ranging from 4099 to 5735 cm-1. Further, the effects of solvents on abs (absorption) and em (emission) of 4 and 5 were determined and noticed that the absorption spectra of these compounds were not significantly altered. While, the emission peak of 4 was shifted in CHCl3 (red shift) and 5 was shifted in EtOH (red shift) and hexane (blue shift). Analysis revealed that the compounds 4 and 5 are promising fluorescent probes with good fluorescence properties.

  • FT-IR SPECTROSCOPIC AND DFT COMPUTATIONAL STUDY ON SOLVENT EFFECTS ON 8-HYDROXY-2-QUINOLINECARBOXYLIC ACID

    BADOĞLU S., YURDAKUL Ş. — 2015 г.

Solvent effects on the spectroscopic, structural, and electronic properties of 8-hydroxy-2-quinolinecarboxylic acid (8HQC) were analyzed theoretically and experimentally. Density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP/6-311++G(d, p) used within polarized continuum model (PCM) to characterize the solvent effects in benzene, diethyl ether, ethanol, and water. Experimental FT-IR spectra in ethanolic and aqueous solutions were recorded and compared with solid phase experimental data. Nucleus independent chemical shifts were calculated as aromaticity indices. Our results show that the spectroscopic, structural, and electronic properties of 8HQC are solvent dependent.

  • HYPER SAUSAGE NEURON: RECOGNITION OF TRANSGENIC SUGAR-BEET BASED ON TERAHERTZ SPECTROSCOPY

FANGRONG HU, HAITAO XIN, JIANJUN LIU, TAO CHEN, YONG DU, ZHI LI — 2015 г.

This paper presents a novel approach for identification of terahertz (THz) spectral of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) based on Hyper Sausage Neuron (HSN), and THz transmittance spectra of some typical transgenic sugar-beet samples are investigated to demonstrate its feasibility. Principal component analysis (PCA) is applied to extract features of the spectrum data, and instead of the original spectrum data, the feature signals are fed into the HSN pattern recognition, a new multiple weights neural network (MWNN). The experimental result shows that the HSN model not only can correctly classify different types of transgenic sugar-beets, but also can reject identity non similar samples in the same type. The proposed approach provides a new effective method for detection and identification of GMOs by using THz spectroscopy.

  • IMPROVEMENT OF FRINGE QUALITY AT LDA MEASURING VOLUME USING COMPACT TWO HOLOLENS IMAGING SYSTEM

    GHOSH ABHIJIT, NIRALA A.K. — 2015 г.

Design, analysis and construction of an LDA optical setup using conventional as well as compact two hololens imaging system have been performed. Fringes formed at measurement volume by both the imaging systems have been recorded. After experimentally analyzing these fringes, it is found that fringes obtained using compact two hololens imaging system get improved both qualitatively and quantitatively compared to that obtained using conventional imaging system. Hence it is concluded that use of the compact two hololens imaging system for making LDA optical setup is a better choice over the conventional one.

  • INFLUENCE OF LASER CONDITIONING ON LASER INDUCED DAMAGE THRESHOLD OF SINGLE LAYERS OF ZRO2 WITH VARIOUS DEPOSITION CONDITIONS

    HAJI MAHMOODZADE M., MORADI B., REZA FALLAH H., SAHRAEE M., ZABOLIAN H. — 2015 г.

Single layers of ZrO2 were coated at base pressure of 10-5 mbar by electron beam evaporation (EBE) technique. The inf luence of oxygen partial pressure on spectral properties and laser induced damage threshold (LIDT) of the samples were investigated. Spectral transmittance of the samples was measured by spectrophotometer. Laser induced damage threshold was detected according to ISO standard 11254. Laser conditioning was conducted by scanning the surface of the samples. Results showed that laser damage resistance was enhanced by increasing the oxygen partial pressure during deposition. LIDT of the samples was changed after laser conditioning. Experimental results revealed that there is enhancement of laser damage resistance of the samples with higher oxygen partial pressure after laser conditioning.

We demonstrate various approaches in formation of the multi-jet structures during laser ablation by applying the perforated targets and multi-slit shields.

  • LUMINESCENCE PROPERTIES OF NOVEL SINGLE-HOST WHITE-LIGHT-EMITTING PHOSPHOR KBABP2O8:DY3+

BING HAN, HENGZHEN SHI, JIE ZHANG, PENGJU LI — 2015 г.

A series of white-light-emitting KBaBP2O8:Dy3+ phosphors were synthesized by using a solid state reaction technique at high temperature. X-ray diffraction and fluorescence spectroscopy measurements were utilized to characterize the structure and luminescence characteristics including excitation and emission spectra, decay curves, chromaticity coordinates of the as-prepared phosphors. The influence of the doping concentration of Dy3+ on the relative emission intensity of Dy3+ was investigated. The critical distance as well as concentration quenching mechanism was calculated and confirmed. The as-prepared phosphors can be effectively excited with near ultraviolet, and exhibit white light emission with short decay time of milliseconds. The above work indicates these phosphors could be potential candidates as single-host white-light-emitting phosphors for application in white light-emitting-diodes.
